| WATERMELON TOURMALINE FIBER NETWORKS :: ERROR 48 — CARD ACCESS |
+--------------------------------------------------------------------+
WHAT THIS IS
Some pages on this network are opened by a physical card instead of a
password. Hold the card to a phone, the page opens. The fleet status
page is one of them:
04202030.com/status/
WHAT A CARD IS
Each card is an NTAG 424 DNA tag written for one credential. The chip
holds per-card keys derived from the issuing tenant's master keyset, and
it signs every read, so the same response never comes out twice. A
photographed or copied link is worthless.
HOW A TAP OPENS A PAGE
1. Hold the card to the phone. Nothing to install, nothing to type.
2. The chip returns a dynamic response tied to its read counter.
3. The verifier checks the signature, the counter and the card status.
4. Only then is a grant issued — single-use, valid for a few minutes.
5. The page spends the grant once, sets a session, and expires it.
WHAT IT REPLACES
A shared password on an internal page. There is nothing to write down,
nothing to forward, and revoking a card is one record rather than a
site-wide password change.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
A tap proves the card is present and genuine, not who is holding it.
It does not make the page behind it permanently available, either. A tap
that fails its checks gets an error page — never the page itself — and a
replayed tap is refused rather than answered.
ACCESS IS LOGGED
Every tap that opens a page is recorded against the card that opened it,
so "who came in" is a record of a physical object, not an opinion.
